The game has been played across the historic Elie links since the 16th Century and given the panoramic views and superb setting it is little wonder the course has established itself as such a firm favourite for visitors over the years.
Dumbarnie Links is not typical of most links in that the holes don’t go out and back. The site is 345 acres and holes are directed to many points on the compass. No consecutive holes follow the same direction so a player will be tested with differing wind directions from hole to hole.
With its spectacular setting around the golden sands of Largo Bay on Fife’s historic southern coastline, Dumbarnie Links offers not only breath-taking views across the Firth of Forth, but a modern challenge that every true lover of the purest form of our ancient game cannot afford to miss.
Step back in time and uncover the rich tapestry of history woven into Kingsbarns Golf Links. From its Bronze Age roots and Viking-era fortifications to the formation of an 18th-century golfing society and its remarkable 21st-century revival, Kingsbarns is a place where the past and present meet.
Golfers tread the same storied land where ancient communities thrived, and Napoleonic prisoners left their mark with enduring craftsmanship. Explore the fascinating journey of this iconic links course and its place in Scotland’s rich heritage.
